2024학년도 대수능 영어 32번 해설/정답/분석 (2023년 11월 16일 시행)

32번이 좀 어려웠다는 이야기를 듣고 먼저 해설 자료 올려봅니다.

 

[도입부] 이해하기 어려운 영화의 음악 작곡가의 특징: 친숙한 음악을 제시

1. A musical score within any film can add an additional layer to the film text, which goes beyond simply imitating the action viewed.

영화 속 음악 악보는 단순히 보는 행동을 모방하는 것을 넘어, 영화 텍스트에 추가적인 층을 더할 수 있다.

 

✏️ 영화에는 시각적인 것을(the action viwed)을 넘어서 추가적으로 청각적인 것(음악)도 있다는 것을 나타내고 있어요.

글의 소재는 영화 음악이 되겠네요!

 

2. In films that tell of futuristic worlds, composers, much like sound designers, have added freedom to create a world that is unknown and new to the viewer.

미래의 세계를 다루는 영화에서는 사운드 디자이너와 마찬가지로 작곡가들은 시청자에게 알려지지 않고 새로운 세계를 창조하는 자유를 더하였다.

 

✏️ 영화 음악을 만드는 작곡가들과 사운드 디자이너의 공통점을 나타내고 있어요.

 

3. However, unlike sound designers, composers often shy away from creating unique pieces that reflect these new worlds and often present musical scores that possess familiar structures and cadences.

그러나 사운드 디자이너와는 달리 작곡가들은 종종 이러한 새로운 세계를 반영하는 독특한 작품을 만들기보다 익숙한 구조와 박자를 가진 음악 악보를 제시한다.

 

✏️ 차이점을 통해 영화 음악을 만드는 작곡가들의 특징을 두드러지게 설명하는 부분이에요.

시청자에게 익숙한 구조와 박자를 가진 음악을 제시하는 것이 핵심!

4. While it is possible that this may interfere with creativity and a sense of space and time, it in fact aids in viewer access to the film.

이것이 창의성과 시간 및 공간 감각에 간섭할 수 있지만, 실제로는 영화에 대한 시청자 접근을 도울 수 있다.

 

✏️ while 종속절이 마이너스의 의미를 갖고 있기에, 당연히 주절은 플러스의 의미가 들어가야 맞아요.

우선 선지를 보며 가치판단을 해봅시다.

① frees the plot of its familiarity (줄거리에서 친숙함을 없앤다) → 마이너스
② aids in viewer access to the film (영화로의 시청자 접근성을 돕는다) → 플러스

엥.. 아쉽게도 명확하게 마이너스인 보기는 1번 밖에 없으므로 1번은 패스하고 지나갈게요.

빈칸의 내용을 정확하게 이해하려면 당연히 뒷부분까지 읽어주는게 좋아요.

5. Through recognizable scores, visions of the future or a galaxy far, far away can be placed within a recognizable context.

이해하기 쉬운 음악 악보를 통해, 미래의 비전이나 아주 먼 우주는 이해하기 쉬운 맥락 속에 배치될 수 있다.

 

✏️ 미래나 우주의 모습은 우리가 실제로 경험해본 적이 없으므로 이해하기 어려워요

하지만, 음악이 이해하기 쉬우면, 그로 인해 그 모습이 좀 더 이해가 쉽게 된다는 의미입니다.

 

[결론] 주제문 반복 ... (즉 주제문에 빈칸이 있었으니, 정답의 근거가 될 수 있는 문장은 바로 결론 문장!)

6. Such familiarity allows the viewer to be placed in a comfortable space so that the film may then lead the viewer to what is an unfamiliar, but acceptable vision of a world different from their own.
이러한 익숙함으로 인해 시청자는 편안한 공간에 놓이게 되고, 그 영화는 그들을 자신의 세계와는 달라서 친숙하진 않지만 수용 가능한 비전으로 이끌어 줄 것이다.

 

✏️ 결과적으로, 음악의 친숙함으로 인해 우리는 여전히 우주나 미래의 모습이 친숙하진 않아도 받아들일만한 정도까지는 된다는 말이에요.

음악이 친숙할지언정 주제가 완벽히 이해 되진 않아요. 🥹
