2023년 9월 고1 영어 모의고사 학평 29번 해설/분석 (오답률 2위, 72%)

2023년 9월 6일 (수)에 시행했던 2023년 9월 고1 전국연합학력평가 29번입니다.

어법 문제고 오답률 2위를 차지했네요.

 

핵심 문장 위주로 한 번 살펴보겠습니다.

 

1. Just read the comments / on social media / from fans [discussing the weekend’s games], // and you quickly see / how many people believe / they could play, coach, and manage sport teams / more ① successfully / than those on the field.

댓글들을 읽어보아라 / SNS에 있는 / 팬들이 쓴 / [(그 팬들은) 이번 주말 게임에 대해 논의 중이다 // 그러면 너는 바로 보게 된다 / 얼마나 많은 사람들이 믿고 있는지를 / 그들(사람들)이 스포츠팀을 경기하고 코치하고 관리하는 것을 / 더 성공적으로 / 필드에 있는 사람들(선수들)보다  

 

✏️ 부사 successfully가 동사구(could play, coach, and manage ...)를 수식하여 자연스러운 해석이 가능하므로 어법상 맞는 표현입니다.

 

 

2. Students and professionals [with years of training and specialized degrees in sport business] may also find / themselves ② being given advice / on how to do their jobs / from friends, family, or even total strangers / without any expertise.

수 년간의 훈련과 스포츠 경영 전문 학위가 있는 학생들과 교수들 또한 알게 될 수도 있다 / 그들 자신이 조언을 받았다고 / (어떤 조언?) 그들의 일을 어떻게 해야하는 지에 대해 / 전문 지식이 없는 친구, 가족, 심지어 완전 낯선 사람들로부터

 

✏️ [중요‼️] 학생들이 가장 많이 오답으로 고른 보기가 바로 2번입니다. '문법'만 따졌을 때는 giving advice (조언을 하는, 능동), being given advice (조언을 받는, 수동) 둘 다 옳기 때문입니다. 하지만 고등 모의고사는 중학교 시험과는 달리 문법 자체만 물어보는게 아니라 '어법 (=문법x맥락)'을 물어봅니다. 절대로 이 점을 잊어서는 안 됩니다. 즉, 해석도 해야한다는 것!

 

1번 문장에서 SNS에 있는 사람들이 선수들보다 더 성공적으로 스포츠 게임을 운영한다고 했으므로, 전문가들은 비전문가로부터 '조언을 받는다'가 맥락상 옳습니다.

3. Executives in sport management / ③ have decades of knowledge and experience / in their respective fields.

스포츠 경영진들은 / 수십년 간의 지식과 경험이 있다 / 그들의 각각의 영역에

 

✏️ 동사에 밑줄이 쳐져있다면? 시! 수! 태! (시제, 수, 태)

시제도 괜찮고, 수일치도 잘 되어있고, 태는 말할 것도 없는걸요?ㅎㅎ

 

 

4. However, / many of them face / criticism from fans and community members / telling ④ themselves / how to run their business. 

그러나 / 많은 경영진들은 직면한다 / 팬들과 지역사회 구성원들로부터의 비판에 / (팬들과 구성원들은) 말하는 / 그들에게 (경영진에게) / 어떻게 그들의 사업을 운영해야 하는지에 대해 

 

✏️ 현재분사 telling은 선행사 fans and community members를 수식하고 있습니다. 현재분사의 주체는 수식받는 명사죠 (주절의 주어가 아니에요). 또한 telling의 목적어는 스포츠 경영진들이므로 주어(팬들..)와 목적어(스포츠 경영진)가 같은 대상이 아닙니다. 따라서 재귀대명사를 쓸 수 없지요. 따라서, them으로 고쳐주어야 합니다.

✏️ 전치사 on의 목적어 자리에 의문사절이 쓰였습니다. 의문사절은 명사절 역할을 하므로 전치사의 목적어로 쓸 수 있어요.
